Mapping of mineral deposits and geological mapping with traditional geological surveying methods is time consuming, complicated and expensive. These methods require lots of field work, structured mapping processes, study of surface structures and geological, mineralogical and geochemical analyses. Aerial mapping techniques are fast and effective in identifying mineral deposits and mapping of surface structures thanks to they provide a detailed overview and information of a large area with a little need of field work. By the use of various aerial assessment methods we can provide information related to relief, soil characteristics, mineral composition and vegetation cover.
